Emirates Online Check-In Process Explained: Save Time at The Airport

Web Check-in (also known as online check-in) is a well-timed service presented by Emirates that allows passengers to check in through Emirates' official websites or mobile apps, rather than standing and waiting in long queues at airport kiosks. Emirates Web Check-In is accessible 48 hours before the scheduled departure and 90 minutes before takeoff for passengers with e-tickets.

Emirates web check-in is a convenient way to save time at the airport, but it's not available for everyone. Most passengers can easily check in online, but there are a few exceptions. Here's a quick look at who can and can't use the service:

Eligible Passengers:

• People who have valid, confirmed tickets for Emirates operate flights only.
• Youths, adults, and children travel together in the same (PNR) booking.
• Up to 9 passengers flying together on the same reservation. 

Not Eligible Passengers: 

• Minors (unaccompanied children) travelling alone, mainly below 16, are requested to check in at the airport.
• People who fly with special needs require additional assistance. Additionally, passengers asked for medical assistance.

Requirements For Web Check-In

• If you are travelling internationally, you must have.
• According to the destination, you should have a visa if required.
• The airline e-ticket number or booking Reference/PNR number.

Step 1: Visit the Emirates official website or mobile app:

• Visit the official Emirates website or download the mobile app (Android & IOS).
• Manage your booking and select check-in online.

Step 2: Select Passengers:

• Find and select your registered name, then continue.

Step 3: Fill all the required travel information:

• Complete requested (API) Advance Passenger Information.
• Requested passport details. (For international destinations).
• According to the destination, mention all visa information.
• Lastly, contact information. 

Step 4: Customise Your Experience With Flight:

• Select your seat according to your preference (Subject to availability).
• If not included before, add (Emirates Skywards Frequent Flyer Number).
• Select meal type (Ex, Non Veg, Vegetarian and some special meals).

Step 5: Lastly, Download Boarding Pass:

 After all the process, download your boarding pass in PDF form.

Baggage Rules:

• If you have done web check-in, you must still go to an Emirates bag drop kiosk.
• Ensure to complete bag drop on time (at least 60-90 minutes) before takeoff. 

Boarding Pass:

• Download boarding pass as soon as possible after check-in.
• Save it somewhere in PDF form, like( Email to yourself, add to Google Wallet or Apple Wallet).
• Keep a printed copy for an emergency.

Arrive Early:

• According to Emirates recommended nomes arriving at least 3 hours before flying.
• At some airports, peak travelling season or routes require even a bit early arrival.

Security and Immigration:  

• Online Check-in saves your time, but you must still clear the security process.
• Complete immigration formalities.
• Be usually at least 45-60 minutes before takeoff at the boarding gate.

Website or app freezing or not loading: Try updating the app, using a different device/ browser, clearing the cache, or refreshing the page.

Can't find your invalid (PNR)/booking: Verify that you have confirmed an Emirates operated flight, ensure you have a booking update from your travel agent, and copy and paste the PNR number directly. 

Incomplete or missing travel document information: Keep your passport in hand and enter all requirements carefully
