Indigo Baggage Policy 2025: Important Information Before You Board

Indigo allows every individual passenger to carry one piece of hand baggage, which must not weigh more than 7 kg and measure bigger than 55cm x 35cm x 25cm. In addition , you can carry one personal item - such as ladies purse or a small laptop bag upto 3 kg. Always remember to carry your valuables, any electronics and important documents in your hand baggage, as you will keep this with you during the flight. 

For flights within India, you are allowed to have checked baggage totaling upto 15kg. This bag goes into the cargo hold of the aircraft. If you have booked a Double, Triple or Multi-seat option, you will get 10kg of additional checked baggage allowance, totaling 25 kg, as well as the option of checking two individually separate bags for 25kg total if you are travelling in that situation. 

Checked Baggage for International Flight

• 20 kg allowance per person in Bangkok, Bali, Nepal, Krabi, Male, Mauritius, Phuket.
• 25 kg allowance per person in Nairobi

30 kg for Jeddah (Zam Zam water included), Kuwait (Cardboard boxes are allowed if they are properly packed). 

• 15 kg allowance per person in Jaffna

Note: Each passenger is allowed only one checked in bag, so pack wisely.

In case you are flying to Australia, the US, or Europe with Indigo Airlines, the baggage rules vary as follows:

• Australia ( from Australia): 46 Kg (2 bags of 23 Kg each)
• Australia ( to India):  30 Kg (2 bags of 15 kg each)
• USA: 46 kg (2 bags of 23 kg each)
• Europe and Africa: 30 Kg ( 2 bags of 15 kg each)

Do make sure to confirm your baggage allowance at the time of booking since these allowances vary for codeshare flights.

Baggage for Infants

Travelling with an Infant ( i.e. 2 years old or younger), you are permitted to bring:

• One hand baggage that must weigh to a maximum of 7kg. However, no checked baggage is permitted for infants.
• You may be able to fit foods for babies, diapers, and even some small baby essentials into your cabin bag.
