Uses the airport code RUH while its ICAO code is OERK. People from India, Europe, Africa and nearby Gulf countries regularly pass through this airport because Riyadh has slowly become one of the busiest business and travel cities in the region.

Before this airport opened, Riyadh mainly used an older airport located closer to the city. King Khalid International Airport currently has five passenger terminals and different terminals now handle different airlines and routes. The tower stands around 81 metres high and helps guide aircraft during landing, take-off and runway movement every day.
